Nationwide French Esports Ecosystems

France Confirms its Plans for a National Esports Ecosystem

The Government of France is launching a new esports strategy to create a “national ecosystem” and attract new tournament organizers, game publishers, developers, and other esports organizations and companies. The Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Economy, and Ministry of Sports are three interconnected French government agencies that will set the strategy into motion. To do this, France intends to work more closely with important esports stakeholders within the country, and the first on the list is BLAST for the upcoming CS:GO Paris Major.

The French government aims to host the Olympic Esports Week in France at the end of 2024 and has plans to launch significant international esports competitions. Esports Week will occur following the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and will help esports get more recognition among global audiences.
