— September 8, 2025 — Tech
The Sharkoon SGK50 S3 Wood PBT is a wired mechanical keyboard built around an 85-key, 75 percent layout housed in a solid wooden case, including a matching wooden spacebar and Escape key. It uses high-quality, dye-sublimated PBT keycaps mounted on a polycarbonate plate with silicone cushioning to produce a rich, muted acoustic profile. Pre-installed Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow linear switches, rated at 50 ± 15 g actuation force, are hot-swappable in both 3-pin and 5-pin configurations, allowing users to customize switch types without soldering. The keyboard measures 325 × 135 × 45 mm and weighs 1,149 g with its detachable USB-C cable attached.

Lighting and customization are managed through onboard RGB backlighting with adjustable effects, programmable via open-source VIA and QMK firmware without additional software. The SGK50 S3 Wood supports a 1,000 Hz polling rate and can store up to 256 kB of game profiles in its onboard memory. In its review, KitGuru awarded the model an 8.0 rating, citing its robust build quality and satisfying typing feel, while noting minor issues such as slight wobble in the USB-C port and occasional bright spots in the RGB backlight. The package includes a coiled USB-C cable and a keycap puller, and the keyboard is compatible with Windows operating systems.
