Bittermilk cocktail makers have dived into the world of bitters and simple syrups as of late with a brand entitled Tippleman's. One of the syrups included in the line is an unconventional burnt flavor called Burnt Sugar.
Typically most simple syrups are made with white sugar and used as the base of any sugary or fruity drink to enhance the added flavors. The Burnt Sugar syrup by Tippleman's slightly diverges from this pure and plain liquid by starting off with a base made from organic molasses. The molasses is infused with bitter coffee, port wine and berry notes to give it a deep aroma that is much more rich than simple syrup. This would be great to add to bold cocktails and spirits.
