McDonald’s Canada Teamed Up with Hockey Legends on Its Showdown Menu

Hockey season is in full swing and McDonald’s Canada is getting in on the action by teaming up with MHL stars (and rivals) Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid for its new Showdown Menu.

The new Showdown ad campaign pits Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews against Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid as a a showdown between the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder sandwiches. There's even a special made-for-Quebec version of the ad that sees former Montreal Canadiens defenceman P. K. Subban cheering on from the sidelines.

As for the Showdown Menu, fans can choose from hockey-inspired offerings like the Big Mac-David (Double Big Mac), which features a whopping four beef patties, and the Smoky Quarter Papi (Smoky BBQ Quarter Pounder) made with savory BBQ sauce.

The new Showdown Menu is available now for a limited time.
