The Shootlr app was designed to reduce FOMO (fear of missing out) in users. Based in Rotterdam, the photography app lets your friends take pictures of you with your phone. TechCrunch describes the mobile application as "an app that enables you to compel your friends to take a selfie for you, from the comfort of your smartphone."
The Shootlr app allows you to request a selfie of a friend. That friend will receive a notification, and when he or she opens the app a 3 second countdown will immediately begin. Then it will take a picture of your friend and automatically share it with you. If the timing isn't convenient, your friends can also ignore the notification.
