CheckTonight allows potential online dating partners to prove they have tested HIV/STD free using a secure website. According to CheckTonight, this will mitigate the "awkwardness, unreliability, and ambiguity associated with discussions of sexual health." The free service allows individuals to visit one of 5000 private testing labs across the United States and will also accept test results that are sent directly from one's accredited physician anywhere in North America. They also audit the origin of the test results.
The site allows users to search for other members and request or instantly view e-health certificates online. It also allows users to select various privacy settings, including a discreet mechanism where only their first name, last initial and last four digits of government ID are provided, so that members can verify ID in person, while remaining relatively anonymous online. Currently, they have several gay dating site networks, including RequestAdate.com participating. Members can embed their CheckTonight badges into their dating site profile pages for quick and discrete results verification prior to dating.
The company was founded by Dr. Michael Kowalski, M.D. with more than 30 years experience as an Obstetrician, Gynecologist from PA.
