Autonomous Charitable Delivery Vans

Waymo's Self-Driving Vans Will Deliver Items in San Francisco

Waymo will bring its self-driving vans back into the San Francisco area beginning on June 8th. The self-driving vans will be used to facilitate charitable deliveries, which will be working on behalf of Waymo’s community partners. The deliveries will consist of art kits for children in the area, and also items for LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

The autonomous technologies company also indicated that it will operate with safety as a top priority. Waymo will be gradually increasing the number of vehicles in operation, and only one person will be in a van at a given time.

Overall Waymo’s presence in the area can have a positive impact on the San Francisco area, while simultaneously developing the organization's autonomous technology.
