Concept designers are really honing in on the looks of cars that boomers made into hot-rods. This concept Scion Hako has a great resemblance to what was called a "tub" design.

Scion says the vintage design influence was widely accepted by Tokyo trendsetters. A Scion executive called it a sporty box. He might have picked a better term, but tub doesn't sound right either.

Implications - Futuristic designs can allow all industries to appear cutting-edge and fresh in the eyes of consumers. However, it is important to consider implementing futuristic designs in tolerable amounts as to avoid being labelled too outlandish or unappealing in the eyes of the media and your consumer market.
