For the Vogue May 2011 edition, models Coco Rocha, Karen Elson, Caroline Trentini and Raquel Zimmerman help pay tribute to the late Alexander McQueen with pieces from the Costume Institute's Savage Beauty retrospective.
The models showcased some of McQueen's finest pieces and were shot by Steven Meisel. Rocha, Elson, Trentini and Zimmerman all appear to be popping out of a crate, which is symbolic of the exhibit finally coming together. The models were styled by Vogue creative director Grace Coddington, who chose some of McQueen's more noteworthy designs complete with his infamous, intricate headpieces for the shoot.
The Vogue May 2011 Savage Beauty spread was made to commemorate the opening of the Savage Beauty exhibit at the Costume Institute. The spread is a beautiful tribute to an amazing fashion icon.
