Outfits from the Saint Laurent Fall Collection Add Sophistication to Punk
Laura McQuarrie — November 13, 2014 — Fashion
The Saint Laurent Fall 2014 menswear collection was set to the tune of songs by a band named Froth, a relatively low-profile music group that had yet to make it big. Whether or not this was Froth's big break, it set the tone perfectly for the rock 'n' roll vibe to the garments that marched down the runway.
The garments took inspiration from garage-punk style, but twisted the references into chic upscale versions of what an aspiring rocker might wear. Although grungy punk looks tend to have a somewhat disheveled and boastful DIY nature to them, this collection from Saint Laurent is edgy, youthful and conveys the inspiration in just about the tidiest way possible.
