The Sailing Ship Kite looks like something straight out of a fairytale, at least when it is being flown in the sky. People could easily imagine it as Captain Hook's ship, as though he were arriving from Neverland. A stunning creation to say the least, it will boggle people's minds, especially those who have limited experience with such toys.
Designed by Haptic Lab, a Brooklyn-based team of craft artisans, in collaboration with artisans in Bali, the Sailing Ship Kite is handmade out of locally-sourced bamboo and nylon. Just like boat at sea, the Sailing Ship Kite is put into motion (in this case flying motion) when the wind fills its white sails. It is finished with a Baltic birch kite handle and wrapped with a braided dacron.
