Inspired by Africa, Moncler Gamme Rouge Uses Safari-Inspired Fashion

The Moncler Gamme Rouge Spring 2014 collection shows influences of safari-inspired fashion and in the words of Giambattista Valli, shows off Africa as having some of "The coolest, most eccentric people in the world." This African influence can be attributed to Valli attending the International Herald Tribune months before designing this collection and taking notes on the importance of the future of Africa.

The runway show was set up to look like a jungle itself, although it was more urban than a literal jungle, despite the vines. Garments featured prints and textures inspired by giraffes, snakes, birds, leopards and khakis, which were given treatment that looked far more upscale than what you'd normally wear on a jungle trek.
