Rugged Camo Sneakers

Nike Adds Cordura to the Zoom Vomero 5

Nike is updating the Zoom Vomero 5 with a Cordura upper, using a fabric common in hard-wearing gear to give the everyday sneaker more resistance to heavy use and a longer lifespan. A Camo Green colorway gives the shoe a military-leaning look that matches the tougher material.

Nike has also used Cordura on other Zoom Vomero 5 versions, including a Light Orewood Brown pair, showing the material is becoming a recurring part of the model rather than a one-off change. The Camo Green edition is expected to arrive soon on Nike's website. Cordura on a familiar sneaker turns durability into part of the style proposition, giving Nike another way to extend an established model into its broader rugged footwear push. Availability through Nike's website keeps that tougher take in the brand's regular sneaker channel for the season.
