'Rovio,' the game development studio behind the 'Angry Birds' property, has announced 'Rovio Classics,' a new sub-banner that the company will use to re-debut its iconic mobile games. For the first remastered title, Rovio Classics is launching the original Angry Birds game released in 2009. It is important to note, however, that the game is releasing the updated 2012 version of this game as opposed to the launch edition, as this version has more content without any jarring changes.
Rovio launched the Rovio Classics initiative to appease fans who are unsatisfied with the current mobile game market. Many mobile games are filled with microtransactions and paywalls, meaning it is difficult to enjoy a game without having money ready to spend. To combat this, Rovio announced its original Angry Birds will have a one-time price of $0.99 USD and will not have any in-game transactions.
