Automated Fulfillment Centers

Amazon Unveiled a Robotics Supply-Chain Hub in Australia

Amazon announced a new robotics supply chain hub in Australia, a move expanding its international network of next-generation fulfillment centers and featuring integrated warehouse robots to accelerate sorting and packing.

The facility was described as a major capital investment valued at about A$800 million (US$535.7 million), designed to handle higher volumes and shorten delivery windows for regional shoppers. The hub’s layout pairs autonomous mobile robots with conveyor and sortation systems, and it will work alongside human staff to manage inventory flow, order consolidation and returns.

For consumers, the rollout promises faster delivery and more reliable inventory availability across Australia, reflecting a broader retail trend toward automation to meet rising e-commerce expectations and seasonal demand surges.
