British Airways Will Allow RFID Luggage Tracking

British Airways will start allowing passengers to use RFID luggage tracking. Passengers who possess a ViewTag are able to attach it to their bags, which will allow them to check where their bags are using the BA mobile app. Users can also sync their flight details with the app.

Customers of the airline are able to pre-order RFID luggage tracking tags directly from British Airlines. The tags have a price point of approximately $80. The tags are reusable and have a Bluetooth Low Energy as well as E Ink Display that shows users' information pertaining to their flight. Tags can be used 3,000 times until they require a charge. However, currently, the tags can be used only on direct flights.

Airlines are continuing to integrate technology that allows users to better track their bags, and British Airways is the latest to adopt the technology.
