Nintendo Revives Wuhu Island for Switch 2

Nintendo is releasing Nintendo Switch Sports Resort exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct. 22. The motion-focused sports collection centers on an explorable Wuhu Island and primarily uses Joy-Con 2 motion controls. It gathers 12 activities, ranging from racket and target events to aerial recreation, and includes a jump-rope warm-up that frames physical movement as part of play.

The roster mixes familiar staples with playful additions: Tennis and table tennis sit alongside bowling, golf and basketball, while archery, volleyball and thumb wrestling add variety. Skateboarding offers a mouse-control option alongside motion play, while power cruising and prop plane flying give the island a sense of travel between events.

Placing the activities within Wuhu Island turns a menu-based collection into a destination and encourages movement between sports during group sessions. The format reflects Nintendo’s strategy of pairing Wii-era nostalgia with accessible social play, helping broaden the Switch 2 audience and strengthen the console’s family-oriented value proposition.
