This line of reflective gear resembles normal clothing in daylight but glows at night. Created by Design Academy Eindhoven grad Marlies Schets, Seen consists of chic athletic apparel with high visibility at nighttime. The neon line is currently in the prototype phase only.
During the day the clothes look completely normal, but will glow under artificial light at night. This is possible by layering reflective material under other traditional textiles like cotton or wool. This creates chinks in the armor, so to speak, where light can shine through in the reflective gear. In other pieces, the designer used a custom kind of woven fabric made from typical thread and micro globules of light-catching glass. The clothing could shimmer in an office environment, but Schets is addressing the problem before bringing them to market.
