Recycled Plastic Brick Startups

This Startup Transforms Recycled Plastic into Bricks

Gjenge Makers ltd. is an exciting initiative run by three Kenyan-based entrepreneurs that's transforming recycled plastic into bricks that are stronger than concrete.

Recycling technology is becoming more advanced, leaving many consumers to get creative when it comes to new applications for the discarded plastics. This innovative start-up is just one of the exciting examples which highlight a more sustainable future. The technology that churns the plastic into bricks is still a prototype, but has experienced great success. In one day, the machine transformed the waste into 1,500 bricks. According to one of the founders, Nzambi Matee, "It is absurd that we still have this problem of providing decent shelter – a basic human need," said matee. "plastic is a material that is misused and misunderstood. the potential is enormous, but its after life can be disastrous."
