The Rainforest Alliance Updated its Standards

The Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard version 1.4 has been debuted by the organization as part of its initiative to make its program more user-friendly and also driven by the insights sourced from data.

The updates focus on a few key areas including simplified certification requirements that retain the ones proven to have the best effect for both farmers and companies, while removing existing barriers for greater participation. The update also includes targeted inspections and audits that will work to reduce the amount of time and resources required for farmers, supply chan actors and Certification Bodies to partake in the required protocols.

The Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard version 1.4 is rounded out with increased data quality and focus that will work to simplify reporting for farmers, while also gathering high-quality information for better functioning.
