With assistance from Rokkan, a New York-based ad agency, The Humane Society of the United States created a commercial titled 'Where do puppies come from?" as a means to highlight how many animals are bought from puppy mills.
In order to make the problems associated with this clear, the company asked a number of children the question first. The results were incredibly imaginative, with the children thinking up everything from far-off lands that rain treats and a glamorous dog-only condo that's situated in the heart of NYC.
Near the end of the commercial however, the The Humane Society of the United States gives viewers the truth -- which is puppy mills. Following this, it has the children explain what it's like for animals in these conditions, who all wish that the stories that they previously made up were real. With this, the commercial shows viewers why they should be careful where they purchase their pets to prevent the mistreatment of animals.
