These sculptures look like something artistic aliens would conjure up, so it is slightly disappointing to know that they come from a university.
Led by professor and computer graphic artist Yoichiro Kawaguchi, a research team based at the University of Tokyo is developing robots designed to imitate primitive lifeforms on display at the Yushima Seidō temple in Tokyo.
Implications - No matter how far-developed the human race becomes, the fascination with the origins and ancient biology of mankind will persist. For many, this fascination borderlines obsession, and has resulted in an array of books and products based on hypothetical theories. Essentially, mankind will never cease in the search for answers.
