Akai Professional Launches MPC Sample Standalone Beat-Making Device

— March 25, 2026 — Tech
Akai Professional has introduced a new portable music sampler, ‘MPC Sample,’ a compact device designed for beat-making without a computer.

Building on Akai's signature MPC workflow, producers can now “sample, chop and build beats without the need for a computer.” Drawing inspiration from classic MPC systems such as the MPC60, the device is designed for use across multiple environments. The ‘MPC Sample’ features a rechargeable battery, a built-in speaker and an internal microphone. Other key features include 16 RGB-backlit MPC pads designed to replicate the classic feel of earlier MPCs.

As music production continues to expand beyond the traditional studio environment, Akai's ‘MPC Sample’ shows how hardware brands can make quality production tools accessible to new consumers.
