Portable Digital Prescriptions

RVO Health Patents Flexible Pharmacy Selection Technology

RVO Health is advancing portable digital prescriptions through its Script Portability technology, allowing patients to choose where medications are filled before prescriptions reach a pharmacy. Unlike traditional systems that direct prescriptions to a predetermined location, the technology creates a digital master prescription that supports pharmacy selection based on pricing, convenience, and availability.

The company recently secured its third U.S. patent covering the technology. Script Portability is designed to reduce prescription routing from days to minutes while helping consumers navigate pharmacy changes caused by travel, insurance coverage, or medication availability. It also reduces the need for healthcare providers to manage transfers manually.

For RVO Health, the additional patent strengthens protection around its digital healthcare capabilities. The technology could also help pharmacies compete on pricing and convenience while reducing administrative demands on providers and giving patients greater control over medication access.
