Wistful Shaded Spreads

The Polina Barbasova Personae magazine editorial for its Summer 2011 issue is overtly sensual. Each image of the young Norwegian model exudes a dark and forlorn emotion, while still being absolutely seductive. Photographer Siren Lauvdal expertly captures every enticing pose and engaging expression. The black and white shoot, titled ‘Nordland Summer’s Eternal Days,’ seems to beckon towards an unrelenting force, although I’m uncertain if it is in reference to the blistering season or to some other mysterious presence.
