Puzzle-Focused Monster Games

Nintendo Released Pokémon Friends Following its July Pokémon Direct

Pokémon Friends is a single-player puzzle game launched July 22, 2025, on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. Developed by Wonderfy in partnership with The Pokémon Company, the title offers over 1,200 brainteasers that reward players with “yarn” upon completion. Yarn can be fed into the in-game Plush-O-Matic machine to craft virtual Pokémon plush, with the base Nintendo Switch version priced at $9.99 and including a Basic Pack of 30 puzzles, 70 collectible plushes, and 11 yarn types. On mobile platforms, the game is free to start—with one daily puzzle slot—and the Basic Pack is available as an in-app purchase for full access to its content.

Gameplay centers on varied mechanics such as connecting light bulbs, sliding track tiles, and channeling water flow to untangle puzzles. Crafted plush figures can be arranged in personalized rooms alongside furniture and wallpaper earned through “friend quests,” which see town residents requesting specific plush for rewards. The title supports up to five separate save files for family play, and optional Puzzle On! DLC packs add new puzzles, plush designs, and décor items to extend the experience.
