Poem Boxing

Reading Poems in a Boxing Ring

Poem Boxing has no connection with boxing except that the contestants deliver poems in a boxing ring. In this unusual contest, each contestant has three minutes to recite a poem. Contestants can deliver poems about politics, philosophy and everyday life. The judges choose the winner on the basis of originality, style and the delivery of the poem.

Japan is going to host Poem Boxing 2010, which was organized by the Japan Reading Boxing association. The verbal bout will be staged on October 16 at the Nikkei Hall in Tokyo.
