Edible Creature Sculptures

'Playing with My Food' Showcases Animals Made Out of Veggies

Vanessa Dualib showcases her talent for playing with her food in her aptly named sculpture series, 'Playing with My Food.'

There is no creature in the animal kingdom that she cannot recreate using basic food items such as fruits and vegetables. She has done sea creatures, insects, mammals and invertebrates and even dinosaurs are not beyond her realm. As I browse through her ample collection of edible wildlife, I am inspired by the vibrant colors that come so naturally to these vegetables, bringing these sculptures literally to life.

Not taking her work too seriously, Vanessa Dualib uses her series to showcase the fun and wild side of nature, giving us a view of both the animal and the vegetable.
