Bacardi is once again partnering with nonprofit Lonely Whale to fight the war on plastic by recycling plastic straws and turning them into vinyl records. The two organizations have previously worked together in the #TheFutureDoesntSuck campaign, that sought to remove the plastic straw from the drink emoji, and its newest anti-straw initiative is an extension of that campaign.
The new plastic straw-made vinyl records will feature artists Major Lazer and Anitta with their new "Make It Hot" collection. All the proceeds from the record will be donated to Lonely Whale to further support its mission to end plastic straws. For those interested in seeing the straw vinyl records, Bacardi will have an exhibit at the Life Is Beautiful music festival in Las Vegas, where one room will be dedicated to Lonely Whale and #TheFutureDoesntSuck campaign.
