Plasticine Penguin Horrors

Pingu's 'The Thing' Recreates the Frightening John Carpenter Film

Prepare for a double dose of nostalgia with this Pingu's 'The Thing' video. Not only do you get to relive your favorite childhood stop-motion show featuring the lovable penguin Pingu, but you also get a fresh take on the classic John Carpenter horror film The Thing. It’s a mash-up that is as unexpected as it is awesome.

Pingu's The Thing was made by Lee Hardcastle, and just because he casted his version with characters from a kid's show, doesn’t mean there’s any less gore or frightful moments than the original. Memorable scenes involving body explosions and flamethrowers are still intact, only now there’s an element of humor as you watch a clay penguin set a clay dog ablaze. Still, this is the closest anyone will ever get to making penguins horrifying to the general public.
