Dumpling-Shaped Benches

Pinch by Matthias Pliessnig is Made Out of Steam-Bent Wood

Pinch by Matthias Pliessnig is a simple seat that resembles a Chinese dumpling. Although it is not completely closed all the way around, the seat features ends that are pinched while its top portion remains untouched, as though it were filled with some meat and vegetables.

Pinch by Matthias Pliessnig is very similar to the rest of his designs. Made with steam-bent white oak, it has a sculptural, wicker aesthetic that really adds to the overall artistic feel of this piece. Unlike some of Pliessnig's longer and more sinuous seating, Pinch is more like a stool, accommodating one person comfortably. Nevertheless, it could easily seat two more people.
