Joystick-Controlled Photographic Pills

This Pill Camera Can Take Images For Endoscopy Procedures

Medical tech company AnX Robotica created a high-tech pill camera, called 'NaviCam,' that is designed to be navigable inside the stomach of the patient, allowing medical professionals to take photos.

It's true that pill cameras already exist and are used in endoscopic procedures, but the fact of the matter is these devices can't be navigated to specific sites in the stomach. This is where the 'NaviCam' comes in, with this particular pill camera capable of harnessing magnetic control, with doctors able to use joysticks to carry out the procedure. While one of the joysticks is used to control the pill camera's movement, the other takes care of rotational movements.

With tests at George Washington University showing promise, the next step is to infuse AI self-driving capabilities into the capsule, which could revolutionize how endoscopy is carried out.
