Wireless chargers are growing in popularity, but the fact of the matter is that these devices are still somewhat restrictive because they need to be used in conjunction with a compatible charging mat or platform on which to place your device, but this is a restriction that doesn't exist with the Pi charger.

Set to be made available for sale next year, the Pi wireless charger is capable of juicing up your laptop or phone from a distance of up to 12 inches. What truly makes this charging platform stand out however is the fact that it can charge multiple devices simultaneously, and uses magnetic field technology that ensures you don't have to use a specific charging mat.

While most wireless charging solutions still require a modicum of physical contact, the Pi charger is truly untethered in that it only requires proximity rather than direct contact in order to work, making it easier to use on the go.
