A large percentage of the population is supported by pharmaceutical drugs, so the 'Farma' Home Bioreactor is a conceptual creation that would look to decentralize the creation of drugs to allow for in-home manufacturing. Designed by William G. Patrick, the 'Farma' Home Bioreactor would be able to transform spirulina into pharmaceutical drugs that could be used as a replacement to traditional ones prescribed from a doctor. The 'Farma' Home Bioreactor would come bundled with a pill compactor for making easy to swallow pills from the comfort of ones home.
With synthetic biology evolving at a rapid rate, the 'Farma' Home Bioreactor is a response to this movement and one that could one day put an end to traditional pharmaceutical drugs.
