A clever group of graphic design majors at Cal Poly Pomona celebrated their graduation with Pantone chip mortarboards. The students enlarged the chromatic chips and affixed them to the top of their graduation caps, forming a vibrant mosaic when they stood together.
Students have always customized their caps to stand out from the sea of black mortarboards at graduation ceremonies. These Pantone chip mortarboards are an ideal way for graphic design students, who deal with these colors day in and day out, to honor their studies and celebrate their personal interests.
Professor Ray Kampf tipped Neatorama off to these colorful customized mortarboards. The overhead images of the Pantone chip graduation caps were captured by Robby Cavanaugh, a portrait photographer based in Southern California.
