The electropollock is a highly peculiar but undeniably innovative painting robot that takes advantage of high-tech electromechanical technologies to go about getting paint on the canvas, although what makes this particular painting contraption unique is the fact that its painting is influenced and determined by musical inputs.
Developed by Russian media artist Dmitry Morozov, this particular painting robot was built around an old printer and upgraded using a variety of modern motors and valves. The system makes use of a special algorithm that takes different sound parameters into account before interpreting them as brush strokes. The algorithm also takes into account the speed at which paper moves through the machine, enabling it to create stunningly unique works of abstract painting.
The end result is a painting robot that embraces the ethos of abstract art in a matter that would make Jackson Pollock himself proud.
