While $100 per test may seem like a lot, the test costs $80 to take, so students actually on pocket $20. The program is funded through a private grant, and the teachers of the students taking the test are also rewarded via training and new supplies. The American schooling system is miles behind the rest of the world, and maybe it will take a cash incentive or two to help gain some ground. I wouldn't be shocked to see big corporations like Microsoft or Amazon push kids to study math or science with cash incentives and college tuition assistance.
