Italian fashion house Gucci presents its Pre-Fall 2018 collection with a much needed blast of color, variation of textures and outrageous pattern combinations. Successfully mixing and matching different prints can be a tedious exercise, but designer Alessandro Michele seems to have an almost other-worldly knack for it. His visual masterpiece emphasizes the artful aspects of fashion and is an unlikely fusion of futuristic moments with retro flashbacks.
The outrageous pattern combinations consist in an artful juxtaposition of animal, art deco and checkered print moments. In conjunction with the big logo designs, the Pre-Fall 2018 creates somewhat of a dystopian visual experience that is skillfully balanced out by the uniformity in the red boarder, surrounding the photographs.
