This Outdoor Fitness App Lets You Travel While Working Out

This outdoor fitness app virtually transports gym goers to a variety of scenic locations. Rather than staring at a wall, the back of someone's head or a television, BitGym allows exercisers to visit various locations inspired by real life. The fitness equipment takes people to lush trails, down the Swiss Alps and across the California coast, just to name a few of the options.

Members gain access to 24 trails, with a new one being added to the catalog each week. The software uses the camera and accelerator built into your phone or iPad-like tablet, so you won't need to purchase a piece of expensive equipment. The Kickstarter campaign hopes to turn exercise into a more social and fun activity. The outdoor fitness app will be based on subscriptions, currently valued at $8.
