The Opho Keys contraption is like Guitar Hero for people who want to learn to play the keyboards. Having learned to play the keys the old-school way with a human teacher, I find this to be an intriguing idea and it's something that could work well by people who are intimidated by the notion of taking traditional lessons.
The Opho Keys includes 24 keys spanning two octaves, and can be connected with an iPhone to enable beginners to learn to play songs and chords and learn theory through tutorial apps. The keyboard is fitted with LED keys that light up to indicate when different notes should be played.
Once users become more proficient, they can connect the device to MIDI apps to further refine their sound. This is a great example of technology being leveraged to make learning fun and a novel experience.
