This Creative Online Resume Mimics the Homepage of CNN

In attempt to set himself apart and perhaps gain some publicity, the creator of this online resume expresses his career interests breaking news-style. Fanis Poulinakis, an aspiring TV director from New York, designed a website called Fanis News Network in hopes of attracting employers. The visuals of the online resume replicate the exact layout of CNN.com’s front page, but unlike the news publication, Fanis’s site is radical and maybe even hilarious.
The bottom of the website-resume is copyrighted and states: “This website was made in August 2013 by Fanis Poulinakis in order for people to learn how to pronounce his name correctly (he is tired of ordering coffee by the name Alex). He is also in search for his dream job!!!”
Original ideas like this one are a great publicity stunt, but how effective are they? Just recently, the Internet saw a similarly unconventional Google resume that mimicked a search engine results page. It’s exciting to see which companies will scout these relatively high-profile resume creators.
