Tom Gilmour is in the business of creating occult-inspired tattoo art. The London-based illustrator mixes together occult imagery, nomadic themes and heavy line work in order to produce his own personal style of tattoo art. He says that his inspiration comes from "black tattoo art and early 80s skateboard graphics," according to his site.
Gilmour does his work on paper instead of human flesh, and this allows him more freedom to use space in non-traditional ways as he is not constrained by the contours of the human body. Each piece is drawn by hand in ink with the occasional usage of watercolor or digital rendering for shading. The result is tattoo art that has been elevated to the realm of high art.
Gilmour's work has been commissioned for album cover art, band t-shirts and festival posters.
