Florentijn Hofman's solo show at Galerie West in The Hauge (located in the Netherlands) is completely super-sized. The exhibit called “Dushi,†features unnaturally large stuffed animals placed in rooms.
The “Dushi†collection is supposed to highlight the function and feeling of these childhood comfort toys and how those associations are lost when a plushie becomes larger than life.
Implications - From bean bags to bowl chairs, consumers are constantly on the lookout for new furniture ideas that blur the line between decor, comfort and utility. These plushies succeed on all three of these levels in a way that is so playfully silly that sentimental consumers are bound to take notice.
