The Nutcracker Peppermint Swirl Ice Cream Celebrates the Ballet

— November 16, 2025 — Lifestyle
The Nutcracker Peppermint Swirl ice cream has been created in a partnership between Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy and The Joffrey Ballet as a sweet treat for fans to try out this winter. The ice cream will be available for fans to try out at the brand's scoop shops alongside the Lyric Opera House Chicago for patrons to enjoy when going to see performances of The Nutcracker. The ice cream is reported to have a sugar cookie base that's swirled with a ribbon of crimson peppermint to give it a sweet, creamy and rich flavor.

Vice President of Marketing for Hoffmann Oberweis Dairy Jennifer Peterson spoke on the Nutcracker Peppermint Swirl ice cream saying, "The Joffrey Ballet’s Nutcracker is one of Chicago’s most cherished holiday traditions for so many families, just as our ice cream has been for nearly 100 years. It’s an honor to partner with such an iconic Chicago institution to commemorate this incredible 10-year milestone. Nutcracker Peppermint Swirl is our way of adding a little extra sweetness, and families will be capturing the magical spirit of the ballet with every bite."
