Convenience-Focused VPN Improvements

NordVPN has introduced a full graphical user interface (GUI) for its Linux application, marking a significant update to its longstanding command-line interface (CLI) solution. This new release provides Linux users with an experience comparable to that on other supported platforms, incorporating visual elements that facilitate quick server selection, configuration of security settings, and easy access to essential features such as Threat Protection, Double VPN, and a kill switch. The updated Linux client also supports both light and dark modes and is available through DEB and RPM packages, with plans to release a Snap version in the future.

The rollout of the full GUI aligns with NordVPN’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and user-friendliness for the Linux community while preserving the reliability, speed, and security that the service is known for. Although the GUI version represents an evolution of the established CLI-based application, certain advanced functionalities, such as Meshnet, currently remain accessible only via the CLI, ensuring that experienced users maintain access to specialized features. Overall, this update is designed to streamline the user experience and broaden the appeal of NordVPN’s services among Linux users.
