According to a recent study, 60% of parents rely on the method of "dream driving" -- a short drive in a car with a combustion engine -- to help their babies fall asleep. Japanese car brand, Nissan, is leveraging this methodology with the launch of the Nissan LEAF Dream Drive, the world's first zero-emission lullaby that uses a hypnotic soundtrack that combines the sounds of the Nissan LEAF with frequencies produced by a humming combustion engine to lull inconsolable children to sleep.
The effectiveness of dream driving lies in "the soothing sound frequencies of an internal combustion engine," and the Nissan LEAF Dream Drive will enhance your child's ability to fall and stay asleep. Parents can connect their smartphone to their Nissan LEAF via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, to enjoy the lullaby available on various platforms including Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music -- to name a few.
Ari Peralta, an interdisciplinary researcher, noted: "The Nissan Dream Drive depicts the future of using sound and other sensory elements to improve people’s lives, bringing together multisensory science, immersive technologies and sound design to explore new wellness-led opportunities within mobility."
