Nike CryptoKicks launches in the metaverse after the sneaker brand acquired RTFKT Studios, a digital fashion and 3D creation studio. The American brand filed seven metaverse-related trademark applications, suggesting its evident expansion into the virtual space.

The new sneakers boast a futuristic design. It features metallic parts, a noticeably modified sole unit, and paneling to match the swapping around of the screens for customization. CryptoKicks sneakers are one of many future releases in the pipeline for Nike and RTFKT. According to the sneaker brand, “Nike is focused on potential ways to use blockchain technology to serve our consumers in the athletic footwear, apparel and equipment space. The MNLTH is just the start to a future of serving athletes in this space.”
