Tencent Cloud Partners with Nexon to Launch a Metaverse Platform

To debut its metaverse platform dubbed Nexontown, the international video publisher Nexon has partnered with Tencent Cloud, the Chinese internet giant's cloud business division. Tencent Real-Time Communications (TRTC), which permits real-time video chatting and the selling of in-game content, is the current platform used by Nexontown to connect players. Tencent Cloud offers Nexontown enhanced audio and video functionality, a low threshold, quick access, and strong concurrency support.

Currently, players may interact with one another utilizing objects and characters from Nexontown, which is accessible in South Korea. Players can venture to open halls, camping sites, classrooms, and conference halls to interact with other users in the online game.

“We look forward to more possibilities that will be unlocked by virtual world platforms,” said Poshu Yeung, senior vice president of Tencent Cloud International.
