The market now features a slew of workout apps, one of which is Nexercise, an innovative fitness app that uses rewards to get you off your butt.

The Nexercise iPhone app turns fitness into a game, encouraging you to win prizes, like medals and free merchandise, the more you move. Exercises like running, dancing and even yard work can reward you -- you just have to do the activity for at least 15 minutes.

However, the Nexercise app works by sensing your movement, so you have to keep the phone on your body when you engage in the activity. When you do an activity, you get rewarded with points and medals -- the more you earn, the better prizes and discounts for products and services you get. The Nexercise app even lets you work out with a friend (you get more points for doing so) as well as compete with others via a Facebook or Twitter connection.
