The New Balance classic 574 has been the defacto flagship for the brand and New Balance sees no reason in changing this. Recently, New Balance decided to add some modern touches to the classic shoe, preparing it for 2018. The iconic design has remained unchanged since the 1990s and has been popular on the market; however, the changes made by New Balance are sure to revamp the product and get it ready for a new era.

The redesigned 574 embraces a sock-sneaker aesthetic, but not as much as New Balance's actual sock sneaker, the 274. The rest of the changes are more subtle, but ultimately add to an impressive design. The toe now has a less pronounced curve—this cuts down on the bulkiness of the shoe and gives it a sleeker and more angular silhouette. The lining of the shoe was changed to a single-piece, which aids in comfort and further refines the shoe's shape. The New Balance 574 is available in multiple colorways ranging from navy blue to burgundy.
